There were 20 nominated brands for the four brand categories of the 2017 Class  –

  • Diecast Dealer of the Year – Recognizes a dealer who provides excellent customer service and product offerings to the diecast community through various sales channels.
  • Supplier Brand of the Year – Recognizes an automotive supply brand which goes above and beyond in its support of the diecast community and its collectors through scaled vehicle replication and licensing its company branding to various collectible manufacturers.
  • Novice Diecast Maker of the Year – Recognizes an up-and-coming brand in the industry which has brought an exciting, fresh perspective to diecast modeling.
  • Automotive Brand of the Year – Recognizes a brand or company which has had an exceptional and influential high-profile year within the diecast market, thrilling collectors worldwide with new related models.

Diecast Dealer of the Year

Since 1996, Brian & Anna have been dealing in limited edition, vintage and older-issue diecast models across a whole spectrum of brands, including Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Tomica Ertl, Brooklin and many others.

From its base in Orangeburg, NY, Global Diecast Direct offers a smorgasbord of vintage and modern diecast sourced from all over the world and including many unusual rarities and more obscure brands.

Operating since 1979 from its base in France, Tacot deals in a huge variety of modern diecast, covering all the leading European brands including names like Norev and Solido, as well as exotic items like vintage tinplate reissues.

Supplier Brand of the Year

Founded in 1938 and based in Torrance, California, Edelbrock LLC manufactures specialty performance automotive and motorcycle aftermarket parts. Their current current catalog includes over 8,000 items.

Part of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Falken Tires launched in their native Japan in 1983, appearing in America two years later. The brand focuses on Ultra High Performance (UHP) tires, using motorsport to develop new products.

A sub-brand of Japanese automotive aftermarket company Trust Company Ltd, GReddy is famed for its tuning parts, in particular the turbochargers and exhaust systems it produces for American and Japanese vehicles.

Founded in 1901, Gulf Oil has grown to become one of the best-known brands in motor racing. Its iconic light-blue-and-orange colors have graced some of the most famous racing cars ever, notably Porsche’s classic 917 endurance racers.

Novice Diecast Maker of the Year

Founded in 2015 by a team of car enthusiasts and collectors, AutoCult was created with the goal of making high-detail models of obscure-but-noteworthy vehicles which had displayed innovation in some form.

Since it’s relaunch in 2015, the Johnny Lightning brand has been synonymous with small-scale speed and high detail. Originally produced by the famous Topper Toys, the brand is now in the safe hands of Round 2 LLC.
